Bhimsen Gururaj Joshi (4 February 1922 – 24 January 2011), often referred to with the honorific Pandit, was a legendary Indian Hindustani classical vocalist, revered for his mastery of the khayal form, as well as for his popular renditions of devotional music (bhajans and abhangs). He belonged to the Kirana gharana, known for its emphasis on accurate intonation and lyrical expression.
