Description | Shah Jahan III, also known as Muhi-ul-millat, was a Mughal ruler for a very short 10 months from 1759 to 1760 CE. He sat on the throne on December 1759, with the help of Imad-ul-Mulk, later he was deposed by Maratha Sardars.After sitting on the Mughal throne, he issued coins are all three metals gold, silver, and copper, from the mints like Ahmadabad, Ahmadnagar, Farrukhabad, Akbarabad, Azimabad, Hasanabad, Mahindrapur, Shahjahanabad and Surat.This silver rupee minted at Azimabad weighs around 11.46g. The obverse is inscribed with the name and title of Shah Jahan III and the reverse with the mint name Azimabad and RY year Ahad. |
