Azes II
Coins
Azes II (reigned c. 35–12 BCE) was a ruler of the Indo-Scythian Kingdom, though his existence remains debated among scholars. Existence contested: Some numismatists, like Robert Senior, argue there was only one Azes, with Azes II potentially being a continuation of Azes I. However, most sources distinguish them based on coinage differences. Coins: Azes I’s coins depict a horseman with a spear, while Azes II’s show a whip. Titles: Azes I used Rajarajasa (\"King of Kings\"), while Azes II adopted Rajadirajasa (\"King of Great Kings\"). Metallurgy: Azes II’s coins were smaller, thicker, and more debased in silver content compared to Azes I’s.
