Maharaja Jaswant Singh I of Bharatpur (1851–1893) ruled the princely state from 1853 until his death, ascending the throne at age two following his father Maharaja Balwant Singh\\\'s death. His reign marked a period of alignment with British interests and internal reforms.Accession & Regency: Became ruler in March 1853 under a Council of Regency led by Dhau Gyuii Ram until 1871. Assumed full governing powers on 7 March 1871 after demonstrating administrative competence. 1857 Revolt: Actively supported the British during the Indian Rebellion, earning significant colonial recognitionEstablished modern infrastructure, including railways and a cavalry-infantry regiment.
